Odette / Universal Design Studio

Universal Design Studio has recently completed Odette, a restaurant in the newly refurbished SingaporeNational Art Gallery. Described as delicate, refined and elegant like the dishes from chef Julien Royer. It is a beautiful study in a soft colour palette of natural timber, pink terrazzo marble, with nickel and brass accents, combining art and interiors.

Red Bull Berlin / Optimist Design

Los Angeles-based studio Optimist Design has created a sculptural music studio in Berlin as the latest addition to Red Bull Studio’s series of global music spaces. Built in a former power station dating from the 1920’s, the new contemporary interiors perfectly contrast modern Berlin with the old.

Step by Step / Dialect

Designers Pierric De Coster and Jonas Blondeel joined forces to create Atelier DIALECT, designing signature space for Belgium retailer Step by Step, a destination for fashion conscious shoppers.

The interior draws attention to the fashion collections on sale, while gently guiding visitors through the various stages of shopping as a total experience.

Olafur Eliasson / Reality Machines

Olafur Eliasson / Reality Machines

I have been a fan of Olafur Eliasson's work for some time now, every time I see amazing play of light, I think of the facade of Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall. The  exhibition  Olafur  Eliasson:  Verklighetsmaskiner/Reality  machines  spans  his  entire career  so  far,  from  the  early  1990s  to  today.  Perception  is  central  to  the  art  of  Olafur Eliasson.  The  works  draw  our  attention  not  only  to  what  we  see,  but  to  how  we  see,  or, in  the  artist’s  own  words:  “seeing  yourself  seeing”.

Lightspeed / ACDF Architecture

Lightspeed / ACDF Architecture

For the new global headquarters of Lightspeed, a burgeoning, Montreal-based developer of point-of-sale software, ACDF Architecture reinvigorated three floors of the historical Viger train station and hotel, a nearly forgotten, chateau- style building whose pointed turrets overlook a prominent civic square. The studio did so by preserving the found, raw elements of the once-abandoned space, superimposing a layer of select, slick, wit-filled elements that pop against the roughness and reflect the clients’ dynamic, creative and vigorous brand.

DUS architects / Facade for Dutch EU presidency

DUS architects have combined 3D-printed bioplastic with a tensile fabric structure to create a sculptural facade for the building for Dutch EU presidency. The mobile ‘Europe Building’ was made especially for the event. The entrance façade consists of unique 3D printed elements made of bio-plastic that can be fully recycled after the presidency is over.

Room on the roof / i29 interior architects

The interior of the tower is designed by i29 interior architects. Room On The Roof wants to offer the artist a unique experience. This was the starting point for i29 to realise an installation that brings together two worlds in one space; playing with scale and perception as in the universe of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.
