A dark & gold mirrored interior, Le Cloche is located in St. Germain-des-Prés, Paris. Christophe Mura entrusted his first restaurant design to José Levy. Carte blanche.
For a neighbourhood bistro in Paris, José Lévy created a bubbling cauldron of liquid gold, grounded with raw beams and dark purple orbs of light.
Lévy painted the raw wood ceiling gold and patterned the floor with rays of black and white. The arced mirrors - placed above a darkened lounge and propped against walls - allow the space to expand and shift to give an appearance of being many times it's size.
On warm days, Lévy's understated oak tables spill out onto the sidewalk, and after dark, streaks of neon lights beckon passerby under the dark canopy.
The oak tables throughout are also designed by Jose Levy.
