Quiet Motion / Studio Bouroullec

I would like to share the film ' Quiet Motion' by Studio Bouroullec which was first presented during the Salone del Mobile in April 2013. The talented brothers Ronan & Erwan have installed spinning cork platforms in this installation for electric car brand BMW i.

Quiet Motion is an installation made of four round platforms that rotate slowly and silently, reminiscent of a carousel. It has been designed as an allegorical interpretation of movement and contemplation.

Blue strips of fabric circled the carousels and the platforms were covered in leather, referencing materials used in car design.

Aim lamps designed by the duo hung from the ceilings and shone through the fabric to create patterns when it was dark.

Aim design is to propose a lamp That Would offer an infinite variety of adjustments'. We came up with a proposal of a new typology of lamp positions Itself That naturally in the space.
