In the year of the 2012 olympics, a big year for London, design also plays a crucial role. I thought it would be a good time to take a look at some of the designers behind the olympics. The designers of the olympic torch Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby of barberosgerby
have developed collections for Cappellini, Magis, Vitra, Venini, Swarovski,
Flos and Established & Sons.
In 1996 and went on to set up universal design studio ltd.
Their work is held in permanent collections around the world
including the V&A Museum, London; the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
New York; the Design Museum, London; the Art Institute of Chicago and
the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Pretty amazing CV.
They have designed some pretty cool wall tiles aswell , where do I get those???- in collaboration with Universal Design Studio for the Stella McCartney flagship store, which put them both on the map.
