~ Public Hotel// Anda Andrei for Ian Schrager

PUBLIC, conceived by Ian Schrager 'American hotelier, entrepreneur and real estate developer. Often associated with co-creating of the Boutique Hotel genre. Originally, he gained fame as co-owner and co-founder of Studio 54.)'
Public Hotel, Chicago is also famous for being the place that Phil Collins was once refused entry for not wearing a jacket- pretty cool. PUBLIC Chicago is a complete transformation of the famed Ambassador East Hotel and its historic Pump Room restaurant. Rich with a cultural heritage that spans decades, the hotel and the Pump Room was a place to see and be seen and played host to a multitude of celebrities and people from all over the world. The hotel boasts that it's all at an affordable price and offering tremendous value. I just love the lighting installation which reminds me of my school diaramas of the solar system, of course it's more amazing & inspiring!

The lighting installation in the Pump Room by Milan's Dilmore Studio features 500 individually cast resin globes of different sizes and finishes.

Anda Andrei
Anda Andrei, Schrager's longtime in-house architect, orchestrated the interiors; the public spaces feature an edgy glamour, while the guest rooms are in neutrals.
