~ Britain Creates// Fashion & Art Collusion at Selfridges

Walking past Selfrdiges & you can see collaborative works of art by some of the world's most exciting designers and artists.
Led by the British Fashion Council/ Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation and in partnership with the Mayor of London, Britain Creates 2012 is a unique opportunity to celebrate and strengthen the longstanding relationships between fashion designers and visual artists.
Iconic British designers have paired together with top contemporary artists and collaborated on specially commissioned one-off works of art.
The specially created exclusive pieces were all unveiled at a VIP Gala fundraising event at the Old Selfridges Hotel before going on free public display at the Victoria and Albert Museum from 6 to 29 July. A selection of exclusive pieces will then return to Selfridges and be displayed in store from 31 July to 19 August.

From 22 June, the legendary windows will preview new and exclusive work by some of the featured artists inspired by the pieces they have created for Britain Creates 2012: Fashion & Art Collusion.

The artists and designers featuring in Selfridges’ windows are:
Giles Deacon with Jeremy Deller;
Hussein Chalayan with Gavin Turk;
Mary Katrantzou with Mark Titchner;
Paul Smith with Charming Baker;

and Peter Pilotto with Francis Upritchard.
