Scholten & Baijings first book

Reproducing Scholten & Baijings

Published by Phaidon

Amsterdam based design duo Stefan Scholten & Carole Baijings have produced their first ever book, a visual record of their design process from the initial drawings and sketches, through models and prototypes, colour swatches, samples to the finished product. Featuring a wealth of previously unpublished images from the designers' personal archives, it takes the reader behind the scenes of the design studio and allows access to their working methods.

Focusing on seven projects, the book is also an insight into the design-duo's relationship with renowned manufacturers and includes the stories behind collaborations with Maharam, Mini, Georg Jensen, 1616/ Arits Japan, Karimoku New Standard and Thomas Eyck.

The book is directed by textile purveyors Maharam and the pages have been designed by Joost Grootens, whom Maharam approached for his prowess at systemising visual information.
